Henley Medical Centre are keen to let you know that we are still there for you. We have made changes to the way we work in order to ensure the highest standards of safety are in place to protect both patients and staff.
Here are some of the changes we have made:
• Telephone consultations for all
GP’s and nurses now offer telephone consultations in the first instance to all patients. If the GP or nurse, then feels they need to see a patient they will arrange a face to face appointment.
• Video consultations
A GP may sometimes need to see a patient but not complete a physical examination so this can sometimes be offered via a video consultation
• Electronic consultations
Patients can now start their journey online by completing an ‘e-consultation’. Access to this service is gained via our practice website, Patients can complete a consultation at any time of day and submit to the surgery. Patients submitting an e-consultation will expect to receive a reply by 6.30pm the following working day.
E-consultations also offer patients the opportunity to access a wealth of self-help information.
For more information, visit our website at: www.henley-in-ardenmedcentr.co.uk.
• Text message communication
The surgery can now communicate more via text messaging. We now have the facility to send some documents via this method, saving patients having to come into the surgery.
• Electronic requests of repeat medication
While we still offer a telephone request line, between 3-5pm Monday – Friday, patients can request medication either online, if they have patient access, or by emailing their request to: email@example.com. This can be done from your own home at a time convenient to you.
• Online access to medical records
If access hasn’t already been set up patients can apply via the NHS App. By downloading the App patients can follow a simple application process which enables them to apply for access without having to come into the surgery.
• Clinicians wearing PPE
For any patients being brought into the surgery for a face to face appointment you will see our clinical staff wearing full PPE, including a face mask, eye protection/visor, apron and gloves. We are adhering to government guidelines in order to protect staff and reassure patients. Appointment times have been extended to ensure adequate time for cleaning and to minimise patient to patient contact.
• Childhood vaccinations
We are still providing routine childhood vaccinations in line with Government recommendations. We are however asking that just one parent attend the appointment with their child.
This is a very unsettling time for everyone but we want to let our patients know we are still here for you and advise you not to put off consulting with a Clinician if you are unwell.
